It’s predictable, structured, and works well when you have consistent, recurring needs. Most monthly packages range from $500 to $2,500+ per month depending on hours and scope.
3. Project-Based Pricing
Some VAs charge a flat fee per project — for example, setting up your email system, building out a process document, or managing a one-time event. This works well for defined, one-off tasks but isn’t ideal if you need regular, ongoing support.
What Affects a VA’s Rate?
Not all virtual assistants charge the same — and there’s a reason for that. Here are the biggest factors that influence what you’ll pay:
Location: U.S.-based VAs generally charge more than offshore VAs, but the tradeoff is typically fewer communication barriers, shared time zones, and a deeper understanding of U.S. business culture and norms.
Experience level: A VA with 5+ years of experience and a proven track record will naturally charge more than someone just starting out — and they’re usually worth it.
